What is COET?
COET are a local Non Government Agency (NGO), located in Mwanza Tanzania. COET staff manage the Tanzanian Orphanage and Street Child Centre, Mwanza and care for their residents in a variety of ways. The support offered includes education, housing, safety and security, developmental support, advocacy and a focus on reuniting children with their families wherever possible.
Who is it for?
The small NGO cares for Orphaned, Street and/or Abandoned Children aged between 5 and 18 years old, who may or may not be connected with their families. To be an ‘orphaned child’ in many third world countries is classified as having only one parent or no parents alive to care for you. To be a ‘street child’ means that you have been living and or working on the streets permanently, part time or occasionally after which you return to your family home and to be an abandoned child means that you have family but that the family has refused your care repeatedly or have been deemed unfit and/or unable to care for you safely.
How Little Paths Australia support COET:
Fundraising for COET
Little Paths Australia supports this organisation by fundraising across Australia. We work hard to advocate for the needs of those living in the centre and collect sponsorship donations that allow us to meet those needs outlined above.
